A Legacy of Endurance and the Fight for Democracy

I just finished Small Acts of Courage by Ali Velshi and here are my thoughts!
This book hooked me right at freedom and democracy so I was very excited to crack this bad boy open.
The book put a personal touch to social justice over a 100 years. I had never heard of Ali Velshi before but as I read the book I realized I actually did. I just didn't know the name. His reputation is unmeasured for his democratic views and the effects are admirable and awe inspiring.
The book was really well written and while it is a memoir, it is written with a non fiction historical book as well. The book couldn't have come out at a better time. I feel like people are forgetting the value of being a nationalist or they feel like it is not socially acceptable to love a country for what it is. Ali has lived in many places and it proves that immigration is a beautiful thing and an excellent learning experience.
It was definitely an interesting read.
