What a happy and perfect addition to the Adrien English series. This Christmas gift from [a:Josh Lanyon 359194 Josh Lanyon https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1289326144p2/359194.jpg] has all the romance some found lacking in the series. I don't count myself part of that group but I loved this too. Fair warning you shouldn't read this review or the book if you haven't read the series. The story picks up about six months after book 5 ended and Jake & Adrien have just returned from spending Christmas in London with the Dautens. Adrien is exhausted and happy to be back at Cloak & Dagger, whereas Jake, once Lisa gave him her approval, seems to have fit right in with the family and is diligently working on his P.I. business. On arrival Adrien his faced with two dramas, one having to do with Natalie and her love life and the other provided by Kevin O'Reilly, a younger, softer Jake manqué we first met in A Dangerous Thing book 2 in the series. His boyfriend has disappeared on Christmas Eve and he solicits Adrien's help.Nothing that happens in this book is very heavy in terms of danger, rather it serves as glimpse into how Jake & Adrien are getting along now that they are truly together and what a joy it is. Yes Jake still sometimes tries to reign in Adrien's propensity to jump and Adrien is learning to listen and share his burdens with Jake and also his family and not be so much of a lone wolf all the time. He is learning to let his family in and know that it's not a bad thing “to love and be loved in return”.The icing on the cake is the development with Jake's family and how they are portrayed in a realistic way. No cartoon villains here.Once again the ending will leave you tingly inside. You could read this in July and still feel like Christmas. I don't know if Josh has intentions of continuing with the series fingers crossed but the potential for more stories is there. The only thing that will make this better is an audio release. Christmas 2017???
