Sorry for My Familiar, Vol. 5

Poor Patty, left by her demon father with a load of demon debt that she could never hope to pay off, and saddled with a research-crazy human familiar she can't control. The whole Norman/Patty dynamic makes me smile, because of how out-of-place Norman is in the demon world as a familiar, yet oblivious to all of it he is in pursuit of demon research. And Patty's quest to find her father and bring him to task for all the apparent chaos he's causing in his wake is also really funny to me.

Volume 5 has us finally caught up with Patty's father, and their confrontation was everything I had hoped for. Rather than bringing the series to a close, however, Norman finds more reasons to keep the band together and visit more regions of the demon realm to complete his research. The short at the end about demon bureaucracy was also funny, and was basically how I pictured familiar registration would be in a modern world.

Can't wait to pick up volume 6!
