Tough historical fiction done well. I was emotionally invested from the very first chapter. The setting was vivid and I liked he language. The characters were a bit one-dimensional but I did like how Stella was not painted as a genius in school. I appreciated all the errors she made while writing though I thought her ideas were just a bit too insightful/perfectly crafted to be 100% believable. I will probably read this with my book club next year. (Grades 4-6)
