Overall, this was a complex and entertaining story.
It didn't click well with me, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good book.
The leading lady was a bit too pushy in the early chapters, but she became a more relatable character later on. Her medical issues were realistic and ones that aren't often featured in Christian fiction.
Two comments were disrespectful to God, one I won't repeat and this one: “require a miracle probably beyond God's abilities.” Since when was ANY miracle impossible for the God Who created the entire universe and every mountain peak and every person of every era of this earth's existence?
The small-town atmosphere of this book was fabulous. I loved the little lady that needed her rice cakes, and the sense of community was charming.
Trigger: miscarriage
Content: one replacement profanity
