Oh my god.
I've read Debt, and it's definitely one of the best dark romances I've read, but this one is a whole other thing.
The characters are so, so real. So well developed. The pain they face, the loneliness, it's devastating to read about. It reached me.
Yes, the main character is a rapist, and this book plays with your mind that way. The entire time my mind was at conflict, because on one hand, he's a ruthless monster and on the other you get to see why. He's very clear in expressing his feelings. It leaves you unsure of whether you are rooting for this guy or hate him. It's this morally grey aspect that is done extremely well in this book that I enjoyed so much.
I was never bored throughout. The plot was fast, but also slow when required to build the characters' trauma.
I had a great experience with this book. It's definitely gonna stay with me for a long time.
I know this book has a very vague TW but just be careful for SA and self harm.
