Tracie Peterson is one of those authors that for me, when it comes to her historicals, it's a buy first, read the back cover details later. It doesn't even matter where it is, Washington, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Montana and even Kansas. It's pretty much guaranteed to be an enjoyable read to me. The only bad thing (not really bad) I came across in this series is that I was not in love with the cover images. They just didn't grab me and entice me to pick it up to read, but being from Tracie did and does.
This is the third book in the Lone Star series, but can hold it's own and encourage a reader to go back for more in the early books in the trilogy. A theme I always seem to like is when romance wins out in the end, especially because early on when you think that things will never work out. Every time I finish something from Tracie I'm thirsty for more. It's an amazing God blessing as to just how many stories she has to share and I hope they keep coming, because IMHO with her historicals, they are shelf worthy every time.
