Susan Cushing asks Holmes for help. Her sister Mary Browner has disappeared. It doesn't look like Holmes' type of case until he is informed of the grisly contents of a present. A package containing two severed ears packed in salt. We now become embroiled in a story of spousal abuse, jealousy, and murder. Although the case itself is simple and solved quickly by Sherlock, he provides a step-by-step explanation of the steps taken to reach a conclusion. It provides unique insight to Sherlock's logical methods.
