The Battle of Corrin

Why in god's green earth is this not more highly rated? Sure the prose isn't exactly like Frank's but I kind of like it. Frank did bring an ominous feel to his writing but his writing was also very hard for the modern eye. I consider this to be the Sword of Shannara to Lord of the Rings. If you love the lore of the original but find the pacing to be boring, then I say crack open this book.

You get an origin story of Leto Atreides on how he became the leader of his house, Duncan Idaho's story on how he escaped the Harkonens and became a loyal friend to Leto, Baron Harkonen's story on how he went from handsome to disgusting as well as why he hates the Atreides family, you also get the Emperor's origins on his reign started.

I really enjoyed this and it told a story that very much needed to be told for fans of the series.
