Não foi tudo aquilo o que imaginava para um bom texto de investigação policial. Em certo momento da leitura pensei que sairia phd em treinamento de cavalos e afins e nada dos livros, do mistério, ou do assassinato de Candice.
Geralmente, com esse tipo de leitura, entendemos que o dia-a-dia da personagem, até mesmo seus pequenos atos que passem despercebidos serão, ao termino da trama, justificados e todos muito bem elaborados para se obter o sucesso e o raciocínio cabível para solucionar o enigma. Mas o que vemos é apenas intuição. Não menosprezo o poder da mesma. As vezes uma boa intuição nos leva a saída dos piores caminhos.
O que ocorreu e não ocorreu no livro. Vemos a intuição guiando-o para solucionar o crime, mas... Ao meu ver, passou-se o substancial da coisa. Como se apenas na pagina 347 que a história realmente começava, como se nada daquilo lido anteriormente tivesse sentido.
Muitas informações que dariam muito melhor enredo a história perderam-se no meu de besteiras de uma personagem que gostou mais de cavalos e do cotidiano em uma fazenda que a real preocupação com seu trabalho de policial, mesmo alegando não conseguir mais viver sem aquela sensação constante de apreensão e afins.
Como por exemplo:
- o Chapeleiro Maluco era realmente seu amante ou apenas mais um dos milhões de admiradores da mulher?
- Sandy realmente era pai de Sharon?
- O que o megamente cruel e absurdo Cameron fez a Sharon? Quais foram as ruindades que ele fez? Pois, pela descrição apenas podemos deduzir que ele era feio e não ruim...
- Como ela percebeu que ele havia entrado na casa dela sendo que não havia marca alguma? O amigo imaginário dela contou????
- E só eu achei o Júnior suspeito de qualquer coisa, nem que seja de uma desejo imenso e não realizado de ser o chefe e não o mordomo? - -
- Como se deu e se realmente ocorreu o romance deles e por que acabou do nada?
- Como se deu a morte de Cameron? Já que foi um crime tão absurdo e brutal por queeeeeeee não tivemos o relato sanguinário de nosso assassino mais sanguinário e menos suspeito?
Coisas assim.... Sim, não estou muito feliz em ler esse livro. Acho que esperei um Sherlock Holmes de livros, algo similar ao O Chamado do Cuco que, na minha humilde opinião, J.K. Se superou, um Zafón muito bem narrado e apaixonado pela palavra escrita e os encantos que um bom livro pode proporcionar... E encontro um ex-policial/bibliotecário que não quer seguir uma vida nem outra - e ainda no final do livro se desculpa pela lerdesa em solucionar o mistério pois PERCEBEU que havia se perdido as regras do hipódromos e cavalos....
Really!?!?!? Only in the end of the book!?
Sorry senhor Dunning, mas precisamos rever seu ponto de vista criminalístico e recontar essa história.
