What a ride it was! I wish this was made into a movie
This was my first thriller of the year and what a start! Not even half way through and I had ordered the second book in the series.
This follows Robert Hunter and his new partner, Carlos Garcia, who get put on the case of what appears to be a copy cat of a very sadistic murderer, the Crucifix Killer.
What I loved about this thriller was how much Hunter delves into the mind of the killer throughout his investigation. It's not just finding clues and putting them together, he has a criminal psychology background and uses it to figure out how the person is thinking. I love shows like Criminal Minds so this was perfect for me!
As a couple of other reviewers have said, there was a lot of explaining of “how it was done” by during the final face off at the end, which I suppose was necessary, but it was still quite a lot and feel some could have been found during the investigation instead to reduce this. This didn't really detract from the story for me and I still loved the ending, which I definitely did not guess!
