“You ready?” - “Not at all. Let's do this.”
In this fitting finale to the series, Skylar starts by getting on the bad side of the Fae. I'm tempted to say that it seems to run in the family, but it's probably more of a species thing... And let's just say that, for Skylar and her friends, everything goes ever more pear-shaped after that.
Once more, Skylar is up against overwhelming odds, hunted by the Fae and Kasia and her acolytes alike, all the while trying to prevent that pesky god of hers from breaking free.
Yeah, right. (I did mention the whole thing going pear-shaped?)
To be honest, though, the actual boss battle against Kasia is over somewhat quicker than I expected.
That being said, I would also like to mention that I truly appreciate - not only in this series, but in all of Sean Fletcher's books I've read so far - that not everything is clear-cut, there's no obvious black and white, and I occasionally find myself sympathizing with the alleged villain.
