The Deathwatch

That cover spoke to my soul, the book was in the BoH indie brawl contenders list and I didn't read the blurb before starting, I probably should have.

The writing style was very old-timey and in line with the idea of gothic literature, not necessarily my jam. There were also quite a few conversations and subplots/character arcs that I found to be entirely unnecessary. It could have worked as a short story but as a novella I found it to be bloated.
