The Drought

This just didn't work for me on any level. I hate to say this, because the author seems to be a really nice guy who gave me a free ecopy of this in exchange for this review. And, it's been compared to authors I really like and want to read more of – or more things in the same vein. Sadly, this was crass, vulgar, only funny once–maybe twice, and the ending betrayed the growth the protagonist had gone through – and in a fairly inorganic way – to result in a shallow closing image.

It's like one of those flicks that's trying to be Judd Apatow-y without the heart or laughs, but with the extra crass.
