Before I get into my review I want to thank Kelly for buddy reading this with me. I loved being able to talk about this book with her even though we both ended up feeling differently about it.

Ok now to the review. I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did the first book and I think that has a lot to do with how back and forth America was with Aspen and Maxon. I love love triangles but I mean at some point girl you need to make up your dang mind. I say this but I am still struggling to pick between the two so I don't really have the right to judge but I am lol.

Also a lot of things that are happening or not happening in some instances is starting to get really annoying. I can't really say much because I don't want to spoil it but I just think some things should have been handled differently or something should have already been done.

While we were reading this Kelly asked me who my favorite character was and I'm not really sure about that but I do still really like America even though she is a little childish sometimes. I still find her to be a badass character who isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in no matter the consequences. However without a doubt I can tell you the character I hate the most and that is the king. I despise him for so many reasons.

Back to Maxon and Aspen. I know I am all over the place with this review. I am still on the fence with who I think America should end up with. There were a couple of instances where Maxon said some things that were out of character for him and I wasn't happy with him to say the least but toward the end of the book some things are explained and it made me sympathize more with him. Aspen on the other hand hasn't really done much of anything to make me question him except for one scene he was acting a little sketchy to me however so far nothing has come of that.

As for the ending I was left a little underwhelmed by it. I don't really know why that is I guess I was just expecting it to be little more dramatic maybe. Who knows?

Overall I am still invested in this series and I will continue on with it because I need to find out who America ends up with.
