Shane Millar takes us back into the world of COVEN and the Magical Investigations Department with a novella set immediately after the events of ‘The Coven's Executioner.'

The pace, emotional intensity, dialogue and action are at the same level of excellence as the previous entries in this series. He continues with people that we've just begun to know, and introduces us to a new, and deeply wounded character, who will undoubtedly wreak further havoc.

The turn in the overall story arc (from The Coven's Executioner to here), was unexpected but totally logical and hugely satisfying. I still had my head in the previous story, so to have this offering was an absolute and utterly welcome surprise.

The seeds that have been laid from the previous novel are still in place, and now we have a new character to follow, with immense possibilities for new stories.

I'm eagerly waiting for the next novel to bewitch me.
