Karp delivers a heartwrenching and darkly funny memoir about her experience becoming homeless after losing her corporate job in the Great Recession.

In a nutshell: This is the true story of Brianna. She lost her job and became homeless. BUT the book is so much more than this. She was abused as a child (sexually, physically, and verbally) and this is Brianna's story of trying to dig herself out of unemployment in this recession (and her quest for true love).
Hoo. That being said, I must tell you I loved this book. I found it inspiring! It is a must read for my generation and everyone who loved Glass Castle. I will personally be putting this book into the hands of many, many people. I also plan to buy several copies as I know some readers who would love to get this book as a gift.
For a preview, check out Brianna's website. Her tone is very conversational and you will feel as if she is telling you the story over a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
I not only highly recommend it, I will present some book pairings:
1. The Glass Castle- Jeanette Walls
2. Random Family- Adrian LeBlanc
3. The Broke Diaries- Angela Nissel
4. Without a Net: Middle Class and Homeless (with kids) in America-Kennedy
5. Fierce: A Memoir- Barbara R. Moss
6. Change Me Into Zeus' Daughter-also by Moss
At first, I was a little wigged out that this book is being marketed as a teen book, but just yesterday I watched a teen check out A Child Called It, so I am re-thinking this. Please don't let it stop you from recommending it to readers of all ages. Keep in mind the F-bomb is in there and so are several mature sexual situations (not including the abuse).
