The Goldfinch

I like lengthy descriptions in beautiful language, but sometimes the descriptive passages were too much, when they didn't seem to lend anything to the characters or the action. And sometimes, when the young boy was narrating, it was hard to believe that some of the metaphors could come from a teenager.
