The Good Samaritan by John Marrs was an awesome read. I have had a very hard time with books since the beginning of September and I found this book easy to read and very entertaining. The One by the same author was one of my favorite books in March of this year for many of the same reasons it was very easy to read. When you look at this title you think oh this is going to be a do-gooder mystery. All I can say is boy am I wrong. Wow, what a twisted thriller. Laura seems to be a caring woman who volunteers at a suicide help line. And she will help you right off a cliff if you allow her into your head. You think you want to commit suicide? She'll be on the phone with you as you take your last breath and she will enjoy it. But someone that Laura helped to leave this world had a husband who desperately wants answers. And when he finds out about Laura's involvement, well, let the games begin. I got this book from Kindle Unlimited and was super pleased with this choice. This was well written, kept my interest, and was very satisfying. Laura's character was an extremely well-drawn portrait of a psychotic serial killer. She didn't actually kill the people herself, but she may as well have. The events were believable, there wasn't a point in the book where you have to suspend rational thought. All in all, I was very pleased, and I would recommend this book to my friends.
