Shortly after her sixteenth birthday, Sunshine Griffith and her mother Kat move from sunny Austin, Texas, to the rain-drenched town of Ridgemont, Washington. Though Sunshine is adopted, she and her mother have always been close, sharing a special bond filled with laughter and inside jokes. But from the moment they arrive, Sunshine feels her world darken with an eeriness she cannot place. And even if Kat doesn't recognize it, Sunshine knows that something about their new house is just ... creepy.

I'm torn with this book. On one hand I love the creepy, haunted vibes and the story idea itself. On the other hand, I just got really tired of the writing style - I know the mc is young, but it just felt like it didn't flow. But I still see so much potential with this book because it truly has an awesome plot and I liked Sunshine as an mc, even if she occasionally did feel a litttttle cliched in the “quirky teen girl” sense.
This book was so good! It was creepy but not too scary, and so much fun. Loved all the characters!
