The book culminates with the 1921 expedition – which is the point when most, if not all, other books about the mountain begins. George Mallory was a part of that expedition, becoming the first European – quite possibly, the first human being – to ever set foot on the great Qomolungma, “Goddess Mother of the World”, itself.
