This is the 5th installment in the Sparks and Bainbridge Mystery series. I received a copy of this book and usually books in a series can hold up as standalones. This one... I felt like I was missing something.
The setting is post WWII in London and that really tickles me. I love historical fiction books set during this time.
There are two Main characters, Iris and Gwen run a marriage bureau while also solving mysteries in their spare time which was a really clever, amateur sleuthy feel to it while keeping it cozy!
It was definitely well paced and I am going to read the entire series from the beginning
I'll admit I probably don't remember them all 100%, but I feel like this is the best of the series so far. I particularly liked the balance of the marriage bureau, the mystery, and the character development. None overshadowed the other, which I appreciated. I also appreciated less of the gangsters this time around, as they never were my favorite. The mystery itself was fun to follow, even when I had it figured out. Looking forward to the next one.
