The Last of August

While I still enjoyed this series (or is it a trilogy?), I was a little disappointed with the whole romance factor. I wish there could be a YA book that doesn't turn into a love triangle/best friends falling in love/doomed romance story. I don't feel like the romance moved the story along. In fact, I feel like it was a complication the story didn't need, but I'm a grumpy old person....

Otherwise, though a little confusing at times and with an upsetting ending I still find myself greatly invested in the adventures of Holmes and Watson.
