I started reading this book some time ago but didn't get round to finishing it until recently. The story starts with midwife Noelle deciding to commit suicide due to some event in her past.
The book is then read through the eyes of her two best friends Tara and Emmerson and a series of flashbacks told by Noelle. It is clear that her suicide is linked to a mistake she made in the birth of a child many years ago but what her friends don't realise is that it will shatter their lives also.
The book unfolds well from the start and builds to a great climax but from that point I felt it went from a great peak to a very sudden ending. I looked at my page counter on kindle to find from the story reveal only around 20 pages remained and it was a little disappointing. More time to explore the impact of Noelle's actions would have made this a 5 star book.
