The Rebel Wife

This is one of the few books that I'm surprised by the overall reviews here on GR. I try to be a little conservative in my rating, but I definitely think the overall GR rating should be higher, because, well, this is a great book!

Comparing it to Gone With the Wind is not fair, it is not comparable. It doesn't tell the same story. It is similar in geography and time, but there the similarities end, in my opinion. It's much shorter than Gone With the Wind, too.

It is a dark book. It is actually quite horrifying to me. I think the author has put some very disturbing people in this book, and it's difficult to read about them without shivering in fear. A lot of books try to expose the core evilness in bad people, and this is one of the better attempts.

And I picked up this book at the library just because of the cover, it's awesome!
