That series had plenty of hot scenes too, but each book featured more nuanced character development and interesting plots than “I've been pining for you for seven years”/”You're my best friend but I can never love anyone because I am inherently unlovable.” Far from my favorite book from the indisputably talented Hibbert, but YMMV if you enjoy pages of enthusiastic and occasionally adventurous sex.
