Objection!
True to her profession, Jane Mathieson argued that a few days' rest--even for an ambitious lawyer approaching burnout--was unnecessary...mainly because sharing a house, albeit temporarily, with Liam Benedict was no way to relax.
His joking, laughing, take-life-as-it-comes attitude was poor tonic for a woman who took life, love and the meaning of the universe very seriously.
Jane's traitorous desire tried to overrule her outrage at his teasing and Liam's ready smile made her feel somewhat like a shrew. Especially because he'd made it clear that the idea of taming her was very appealing.
