Honestly I'm so glad I started with book 2 in this series (which was amazing!) as this one just doesn't compare, at least for me.
As much as I like T.L. Swan's writing, this is simply WAY too long and drawn out. It could have had a good 200 pages of filler removed and been a great book.
I understand the push and pull between the couple was likely drawn out to increase tension, but they argued so much it becomes tedious after a while. And whilst I appreciate the grovel, Jameson is such a dick for so long it feels like too little too late.
One thing I did enjoy was the drama/mystery around the embezzlement accusations, and the tension with Gabriel Ferrara. This provided some distraction from the couple arguing like 18 year olds and made me interested for Gabriel's story.
