Baker certainly pulled no punches here and he certainly managed to get me excited for the next installment in this series because that ending had me slow blinking at my kindle for a minute. The Third Hunter is very different from the first installment (The House on Hanging Hill Lane) which had something of a fever dream aspect in a very claustrophobic package, here the main character has grown as both a person and into the universe she now inhabits, and the story is no longer confined to the house, it's a different type of horror. I really enjoyed the way things slowly but surely pulled back to show us more of the world I thought is was really nicely done.
