The Tree on the Hill

I felt that this was a rather lacklustre short story from Lovecraft, probably due to the joint effort. The eerie feeling typically associated with his short stories wasn't quite here for me. I felt that, for the most part, this story was closer to wondrous than suspenseful. There just seems to be less of the beautifully eerie prose found in other short stories.
