The Truce of God

A short tale set in a medieval castle. The lord of the castle, Charles, has quarreled with his wife because she did not bear him a son, and he is fighting loneliness and wounded pride. His daughter feels the lack, and longs for the mother she hasn't seen since spring. Can the three days of Christmas peace in the land bring them hope of a better year next year?
