The Valiant

3.5 stars! Gladiators, Rome, awesome protagonist, no actual love triangle? CHECK!!

I felt like it really started out slow for me- and I kinda had to push past the first few chapters. But then I cared enough about Fallon to want to see what happened to her. The rest of the plot was so interesting, I couldn't stop reading.

There were a few things that I didn't particularly like, but I refused to put the book down until I'd finished it. There was action, romance, and a fiercely independent, warrior female lead.

And now I'll be going through a phase for gladiators.... thank you Lesley Livingston.
