While I liked - really liked, even - most of this book, the ending just didn't set as well with me as I would have liked. A good majority of it felt like a cop-out in the way the time travel was used and it felt like everything was resolved too easy for Kate.
It was like she didn't have to make any difficult decisions and just had to merely be there. It didn't help matters that various villainous factions pretty nicely took each other out and left her hands free of blood - even extending to her boyfriend at one point.
Honestly, I'm getting more than a little sick of those YA books that try everything in their power to keep the main characters from killing anyone and, if they ever do have to, make it all the villain's fault.
That being said, several of the resolutions for the time travel aspects felt cheap, like they came at no real cost to anyone. While I really liked most of the series, the ending just fizzled.
