Short Review: This is a slow burn. No fast action, bed hoping James Bond. Smiley is the anti-Bond; a middle aged, over-weight, short spy. His tools are his mind and perceptions, not his looks and his physique. Smiley was forced into retirement but is sought out to figure out who the moles is in the British spy network. This is a confusing tangled book well worth reading.
