The Eden East Series
How do you destroy a living god who not only holds your world together, but holds sway over everyone's lives?
Eden has lost her soul mate and is losing herself to mind numbing depression. She can't focus on living, let alone winning such a battle.
Trey is dead. Or at least, something almost like it. Can he make a bargain with a dead god to return to life and his soul mate?
Where ‘Keepers' started the series with an innocent, almost superficial view of Eden's world and surroundings, ‘Trey' finishes with a more cynical one, seeing and feeling things more deeply.
Her descent into depression, after Trey's death, isn't belaboured, but paced well. It Needs to be deep and painful, and it is. It's almost harrowing to experience the lengths she goes to to try and avoid her pain.
The descriptions, of both the surroundings and emotions, are sharp, visceral, honest and mirror the changes within Eden's life, pulling in multiple senses to really breathe life into them.
And the descriptions of the demons - dear god, I think we need to schedule the author for an exorcism!
When I read the final battle scene I thought of the finale of Harry Potter, and then thought, ‘Nope, this beats that scene hands down!!'
If you've been waiting to find out the fate of all Eden holds dear then get this now!
If you haven't stepped into the world of Eden East, grab a copy of Keepers, and Victor, and then join us here for the shattering finale!
(I received an advance copy from the author. This is my honest review).
