More and more dogs join in by traveling on trikes and trains and planes, closely followed by a cat. Finally, the cat in their midst is revealed and all the dogs return home the way they came.
The illustrations and the gentle rhyme and the lull of counting were great fun, but I couldn't figure out why the cat was following them and why they returned home once he was discovered until I read the blurb in the front (but that's probably just me).
