For a long time now I've been meaning to read Becky Wade's Porter Family series. Well, I've finally started it.
Undeniably Yours, book one in the quartet (the last of which releases in May 2016), features heiress Meg Cole, who must decide what to do with her deceased father's overwhelming estate, and Bo Porter, the former military man willing to fight to keep the Cole horse ranch open. When Meg's past races back into her life, will Bo be able to save her before she's lost to him for good?
The opening line of this book grabbed me right away: “She was too softhearted to be an oil tycoon.” My first question was “Would she become tough enough to handle it?” That was quickly followed by “Does she want to?” The journey she took in the pages of Undeniably Yours answered both those questions and so much more. Meg grew on me by the end of the second chapter, and I enjoyed seeing her transformation from a meek, anxiety-filled woman to a lady who can handle her own in tense situations. I've been in those shoes, so it was easy for me to empathize with her and root her on.
And then there's Bo Porter. I won't even try to tell you how great this cowboy was. You'll just have to read it for yourself to fully appreciate his character. I've always liked cowboys, and this book was such a fun read to get lost in for a couple of hours each day.
A couple of things I disliked: one character slept around, there was gambling and drinking, and one scene took place in a bar. Due to those things, I cannot recommend Undeniably Yours for anyone under the age of twenty-one.
However, I did find the story sweet and memorable, with characters that touched my heart. This book is certain to bless its readers. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
