My book club chose to read this book, I'm not sure if I would have read this book by choice. While it started well, I sensed that it wasn't much to take with you. Maybe I'm not the intended audience here because the idea of comforting the child within and soothing my feelings sounds strange to me and New Age-ish. You might find it quite interesting if you come with an open mind and do not mind some odd exegesis at times. The author likes to research, and that part of the book connected to emotions was quite fascinating. I sense that the author is so comfortable in telling people what she needs from them (such as ‘listen to me but don't give me advice, tell me what you feel about what I'm telling you') that she expects everyone to be able to do that. She sure misses the point here: not everyone has her personality type. Either way, great tips sprinkled here and there.
