Sam's mom, Grace, is getting married. Harold, the groom-to-be, is a retired engineer and part of a well-known and respected family of high society. During a family meet-and-greet, Lydia Lighthouse is thrust upon Grace as her (not asked for) wedding coordinator. She is overbearing, obnoxious, and extremely snobbish. She begins spending exorbitant amounts of Harold's money without him knowing, and has a habit of making Grace cry. When Harold learns about it, he confronts Lydia (in front of witnesses). She is later found dead.
Could Harold have killed her? Who else would wish her harm? Can Sam, Nana Jo and the Sleuthing Senior Book Club solve the mystery and save Harold and Grace's nuptials?
This one is my favorite of the series so far. The entire first chapter had me laughing so hard I was crying, and the laughs continued throughout. Nana Jo is great and my favorite character. I also love how the family comes together and rallies around Grace.
The cozy-within-a-cozy is done in such a unique way that you are drawn into that story as well and can't help but become engaged in both story lines. It's another part of this series that I fully enjoy. This is definitely a seriesI would recommend.
