This book made me sad, and then mad, and then sorry, and then mad, and then sad.
As a cisgender, straight white woman, I would never claim to know exactly how this author feels. But Patrisse should be very proud of being so strong. This story put all her experiences and emotions on paper, although it seemed repetitious at times. Her experience was much more difficult due to where she lived. I have a very close black male friend, and he noted his experience was much different. This is a good read for anyone who wants to understand a little more about Black Lives Matter.
