THIS IS A FIVE!!!!!!!!
So with that said, let us write down the reasons.
First, the story finally took off, and I mean it really became faster, we had alternating flashbacks, battles, even multiversal ones.
Second, just when you thought, the usual Deity Pantheons, we are introduced to Native American, Egyptians and a lot of others.
Third, the sheer scope of the characters, beings that are included.
With the resurgence and popularity of the Norse Mythology, Odin and his Asgardians are probably alive and having fun around the world, masked as human beings, you never know that barista that has been making your latte, that could be Mímir in his earthly guise.
So what is the difference between Paternus and American Gods, well Mr. Ashtons pantheons still travel all around the world, even to parallel earths, whereas Mr. Gaiman's chose to stay in the Americas(my opinion only).
Book Two made me pay more attention to the story more, as I mentioned the story began to reveal more, we are given glimpses to a lot of things happening, parallel universes, weapons used to eliminate Firstborns and True Ancients.
A truly sensational sequel!!!
