You, Again is a modern story about two New Yorkers who keep running into each other. They don't get along at first, but after a while, they are both miserable and find comfort in sharing their misery as friends. However, one night, something happens that completely changes their relationship.
There is a decent amount of queer and non-mono representation, although I fear the book leaves an impression that non-mono relationships don't work. At first, I found the MMC Josh an asshole, but in the end, he turned out to be my favorite character. I can't say the same for the FMC Ari, who I found very frustrating.
The book is well-written overall, although there are a few inconsistencies that detract from the narrative's immersion. While the story feels raw and real, I feel that the book could have been around 100 pages shorter as I felt like the plot started dragging towards the end. My favorite aspect of the storytelling was the masterful usage of time jumps. I often find them frustrating, especially if there are many of them, but in this story, they made sense and allowed for following the characters across the span of many years.
