I did not expect to love this as much as I did. Easy and engaging read, that got me multiple times laughing out loud or sobbing in the train. I’ve highlighted so many phrases and paragraphs throughout the book and gained deeper curiosity towards my own patterns.

Like many thrillers, it started well but fell flat in the end. Some of the twists were bit far fetched. The ending was kinda predictable. The audiobook is entertaining though.

Beautiful, brilliant, brutal. Everyone should read this!

Highly recommend the audio book! I think it was 3/4 part very entertaining story, but the ending fell a bit flat and forced in my opinion. Overall, a solid thriller that was well-paced, but like many in the same genre, it didn’t leave a lasting impression or anything.

Good for her!

It's giving white savior... DNF'd like 70 pages in. Hated the romance-focus: there was absolutely no build up between the characters and suddenly the protagnist just was in love with this married man giving the breadcrumbs, which started to annoy me.

Meh. Quick read and I did not hate it, but... from the half way I was kinda bored. I found the ending disappointing. In general there was too many girls inexplicably disappearing and plot points left hanging. The situations became increasingly unrealistic, and some of the protagonist's decisions seemed just plainly dumb, which made the book kinda chaotic.

The gothic atmosphere, the gore, the sapphic vibes, honestly Johanna slayed with this one

My heart was torn in pieces and I'll never recover from this book

Heartbreaking story, fantastic writing, excellent social commentary on sexism, loved the protagonists.

What the fuck did I just read? I think I need to sit with this book a while. Did I hate it? No. Did I like it? I don't know... I was compelled to keep going but also I was disgusted. lol

Absolutely brilliant, entertaining, and unhinged! I had so much fun reading this. I anticipate that this will be my favorite book I read this year. I can't wait what Yoder comes up with next!

This is my first book by Morrison. I rarely read books again, but I think I want to come back to this book and read it again. English is not my first language, and therefore, maybe I could not get the nuances of this book. As there were some parts that were bit hard to understand for me, 2/3 of the book I was bit bored, and then it got better until the end. However, I can really see that this book was significant of it's time and I really loved the social commentary on women & sexuality, and the dialogues between Sula and other characters.

This was my first queer novel by Nigerian author. Amazing debut novel. I am really looking forward what the author comes up next.

This was everything I am looking for in a good book; page turner, queer, mysterious, with a good twist.

Damn, this book is wild. Great description of narcissistic, abusive mother and what that can do to a child.

This book destroyed me and I will never be the same. Honestly, probably the best book I ever read.

This book healed my inner child.

OMG. I was unsure whether I would like this because I'm not big fan of romance books, but it was so much more. Now I want to read only about bisexual polyamorous vampires.
