Spoilers, this book is readable AND will make you a better programmer

Legit a total banger. Took me quite a while, but so well written, with very little lost in translation. The scope of the story, whilst not being overly complex made me feel like I was actually there. A genuine historical epic.

Not my usual fare - but I found this extremely thought provoking! Considering there's very little plot, It was a real page turner!

OG dystopia, you love to see it

Better than the secret commonwealth, and a bit more like the original trilogy.

Garbage ending 👎

Slow starter, strong finish rip frog

Loved it, Japanese ocean at the end of the lane/neverwhere

what a book, very green

3.5/5, still very good, but it's very much more of the same as book one. This would be excellent, except I devoured them back to back, so the novelty wore off.

The message in this one is a little excessively delivered. Missed Linus's take on things.

Heartwarming, charmingly written.

I'm frreeeeeeee

Different from the film, arguably better? Saw some criticism that nothing happens in the second half, but I disagree

Took me a while to get into, as I'd sort of forgotten wtf was going on, and the style of shorter “punchier” chapters was at first frustrating - but GOT DAYUM is this a banger

We are so back

Enjoyable, more 3.5, highlights how well the spirit was adapted in the show!

Really really good, even better than expected! Lovely writing style, just the right amount of character to each individual. R.I.P Patroclus

I wish this book was worse because it was the only one I brought on holiday

Nothing happens and I could not be more here for it, what excellent writing and character development, heart warming to the extreme

4.5 ⭐
So imaginative, loses the thread a little bit in the second half, very cool prose though. Could've maybe been cut down in places, due to telegraphing the big reveal at the end too early, making it feel quite arduous to get to.

Cute and very easy to read. Wasn't quite what I was expecting, but that's not a bad thing!

Enjoyable!

4.5, absolutely brilliant. Falls into a few tropes of anthropomorphising some aliens, and the human world could have been a bit more exotic.

However, there is a notable lack of other tropes, and a good, very well paced story to boot.

Certified banger
The first one was great, but this one was even better
Phenomenal characters, settings and story
