3.5 Stars
Telegraphs the entire plot like its 1924
Lacks the grand scale of the ancillary series, but well written with decent characters!

Quite simple and YA, but also devoured it am dying to read the sequel, so there's that

Absolute banger

5 star book was very good, no spoilers but I was confused, need to brush up on Storm light archive!

It's about damn time, just as good as the first three! Excellent premise.

3.5, very easy and light to read - does a lot with the few pages it has.

Very cool! Picture book technology has advanced so much since I was a kid

Good YA Sci-FI
Somewhat brushes over the personal toll of straight murdering enemy civilians or fighters
YA version of final Architecture

Good! Excellent world building, however i was definitely expecting less romance after the start!

Listened rather than read. It was fine? The writing style was good, let down by what I found to be a rather slow and mediocre story

I enjoyed the description of the light houses, the coast and the rescue!

However once the historic setting ends, the writing, particularly within the dual American set narrative, falls off.

Not a bad story, but very average.

4.5 very good preferred Tress overall, as this ending shouldn't have changed!

I was going to give this four stars, as midway through I felt I was mired in endless drama, even if it was well written and structured. However the last quarter really picked up and I was genuinely moved by some of the passages.

Bonus point for excellent video games knowledge and history!

Didn't see it coming! Felt a bit shallow compared to some other Christies I've read, 3.5/5

More like 3.5
Super strong premise, lost my interest a bit as it dragged on!

Very Good, simply and very effectively written, kind of depressing though so -1 star for that

Good - I liked it
Felt like there was less character development in this installment, some characters had a few things shoe-horned in, and there were fewer first person chapters.

But mystery is interesting and the characters are still the same enjoyable bunch!

Simpler than Daisy Jones, just a non complex story being revealed with just enough of a hook to keep you interested.

Like Gideon the ninth but with simpler magic in the Indian ocean

More enjoyable than the second one - a sort of YA cross between Gideon the Ninth (minus the zombies) and The Final Architecture by Tchaikovsky. Very good, looking forward to the next one!

Super enjoyable read! A more manageable cast of really interesting characters. I would avoid any introduction or foreword, until after the book, as they may help you figure out who done it.

Very tense, atmospheric and gripping. 5/5 for murder novels

Such a refreshing return to the Cosmere!
