The Great Zoo of China was a fast paced, action packed thrill ride! While I did find the beginning a little slow, it soon picked up and then never let up - as one would expect from a Matthew Reilly novel. Yes, one can't help but draw comparisons to Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park. But regardless of that, this book kept me entertained and on the edge of my seat. It would make a great movie!
Another great read by Jeremy Robinson! The Dark grabbed me from the start and kept on going, faster and faster as the story progressed. Likeable characters, humour, creepy creatures - with a surprising twist and all out adrenaline action that kept me reading furiously. It's a fun, creepy, nerve-wracking, action packed read. All one would expect from a Jeremy Robinson book - and Jeremy never disappoints!
Wow what a great read! Jeremy Robinson never disappoints in his stories, they are amazing, fast-paced, heart-pounding tales that I can't put down. Patriot is book 2 of the Jack Sigler Continuum, and it has everything - pirates, voodoo, time travel, monsters, and at the heart of it our hero, Jack Sigler aka King. I loved this book, and am immediately going to read the next in the series.
I really enjoyed The Devil's Noose. It grabbed my interest from the start, and kept me reading. It's a great medical thriller with a unique and interesting take on what killed the dinosaurs...and the attempt to stop it before it happens again. Definitely worth a read if you like medical thrillers about pandemics, that are full of action and suspense.
I loved it!! What a great story, full of tons of action, and twists you don't see coming. I won't give away any of the plot as I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it. But I will say, you are in for a wild, fun ride! I could not put the book down (as I sit here at 3am just having finished it). I can't wait to begin the next adventure in the series.
I will first confess that I don't usually read books that are fully science fiction, and not usually space related. So I was a bit unsure starting Planet Pluto. However, I was told by a friend that it was very good, so I thought I'd give it a try. And I was so glad I did!!
Planet Pluto had me hooked right from the beginning. The premise is interesting, as are the characters. The action begins right away as the harrowing voyage to Pluto speeds forward, and doesn't let up.
B.C. Chase is a great writer. He drew me in immediately. He kept me guessing throughout the book, and wondering what would happen next on the journey to Pluto, and of course, what the characters would find when they got there. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and found it hard to put down. I look forward to reading more by B. C. Chase.
Note: I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, through Reading Deals, and I gave an honest review.
What is reality? Are we real, or are we a simulation, a construct of someone else's reality? This is the theme that Jeremy Robinson explores in his newest action-packed novel, NPC. Told from the perspective of two very different characters, whose lives quickly become intertwined, NPC delves into the nature of our reality, in this mind-blowing technological thriller. While NPC is fast-paced right from the start, and keeps you turning the pages to see what will happen next, it is also quite deep, and explores ideas which really make you think, long after you've finished the last page.
While NPC may not be my favourite of Jeremy Robinson's books (I have read quite a lot of his books over the years), I really enjoyed it, and found it hard to put down. He is a fantastic writer, and really draws you into the story and the characters. NPC is a fun and exciting read which will blow your mind, and perhaps, even just a little, make you question your own reality.
Note: I was given an ARC of NPC in return for a fair, unbiased, honest review.
I loved it! Beneath The Dark Ice was the book that got me hooked on Greig Beck's novels. So I was thrilled to realize Kraken Rising was a sequel to it. This book didn't disappoint! It had all the heart-pounding, page-turning action and thrill of the first book, and then some. My favourite book of the Alex Hunter series so far I think. Can't wait to read the next one!
Where to start - simply, wow! I just finished Alter, and my emotions are raw. This is such a powerful book, and is one of the best by Jeremy Robinson that I have read.
The story grabbed me from the start, and I couldn't put the book down. Alter is the story of Greg, a doctor, who has flown to the Amazon to help the native tribes. But on his way there, he is in a plane crash, and is stranded in the Amazon jungle, alone, far from civilization. This is the story of his survival, and how he changes, both mentally and physically, in order to survive. The story is fast paced and exciting, raw, brutal and violent. But it is also full of strength and love. It is totally enthralling, and leads you through a gamut of emotions. I admit, I shed a few tears at the end of Alter, and will be thinking of it for a long while to come.
