Guilt Tripowy efekt kuli śnieżnej. Myślisz, że nie może być już gorzej, a tu książka uderza cię niespodziewanie w drugi bok. Okropnie depresyjna jak i sprawiająca ból, lecz ważna. Najłatwiej przekazać co dana osoba może czuć, gdy perspektywa pozwala czuć się w nią i tak jest w tym przypadku. Najłatwiej jest pokazać co czuły osoby czarnoskóre w stanach zjednoczonych stosunkowo niedawno, gdy ukażemy to na przykładzie co gdyby to biali byli nękani. Niesamowite dzieło, każdy powinien przeczytać je choć raz.

Absurdalny slop. Sam pomysł z zapowiadaniem śmierci jest spoko, lecz widać że autor nie umiał dowieźć. Worldbuildingu nie ma wcale, nikt nie wie jak działa Death-Cast. Historia wprowadza pradoksy i zmienne które sugerują że gdyby nie poinformowano obu o śmierci, nic by się takiego nie zdarzyło, a w takim razie jak przepowiedzono śmierć w pierwszej kolejności? Cały biznes kręcący się wokół deckerów jest intrygujący, by powiedzieć niewiele. Lecz i tu autor nie dowozi, więc całość wygląda tanio i jest godne politowania. Postacie są spoko same w sobie, lecz powód ich spotkania jest tak losowy, że nieco niewiarygodny. Tak samo niewiarygodny jest wątek który prowadzi ich ku zgubie. To co się tam dzieje to poziom istnej tureckiej telenoweli, gdzie nie mogłem się nie śmiać. Dodatkowy punkt za skrajny patos i poczucie przygnębienia, bo w momentach gdzie normalnie, w dobrej literaturze, nie śmiałbym się, kisłem jak szalony. Nie wiem, może brak mi empatii czy chuj wie co, ale dla mnie zamiast tragedii rodem z makbeta, trafiłem molierowskiego skąpca. Poczytać i pośmiać się można, ale raczej to komedyjka na jeden raz. 4/10

Okrutnie realistyczna książka która w obecnych czasach, pełnych gloryfikowania seksualizacji i konsumpcjonizmu jak i cichego przyzwolenia na używanie środków psychoaktywnych w nie medycznych celach, zdaje się być coraz to bardziej prawdopodobna. Warta spojrzenia jest również tragiczna sytuacja “Rezerwatów dla dzikich” która jest zbieżna do sytuacji jaką obecnie możemy zaobserować w rezerwatach dla indian w stanach zjednoczonych, gdzie również jest ogromna bieda. Straszliwa książka i chyba najlepiej przedstawiona wizja dystopii 10/10

I didnt liked it as much as i hoped i will. I mean its good contentwise, but its not my comfort read and although i have it 7/10 (or as you call here 4*), I have no intentions to returning to this book ever again. Maybe its simply my type of romance or magical realism fiction or perhaps the storytelling is the issue. This may be it, as its written like a fable and content in it is very disney princesses esque but mature. Actually it reminds me Princess and The Frog mood-wise.
For those, like me, who havent read the synopsis. The story revolves around a girl named addie, who lives in early XVIIIth century France, and shortly before her wedding ceremony she rans away. During her prayers at the rivers she summons a demon which gives her more time to decide, actually he gives her infinite amount of time as she becomes an immortal but there is catch. Noone remembers her and will forget about her relativey quickly after she meet a person. She also cant say her real name anymore. Time passes, sometimes the demon visits her to ask for the soul once again where obviously, she declines. And now we in 2014 when addie is still alive and well but this time she meets a boy who she will soon find out, will remember her.
Thats the quick tldr, and premise is really good. But the problem is ealier mentioned fable esque writing and reallly slooow “disney magic” building pacing. The book is sooo sloooow, like barely is going on. It could be better if the story would be organised much better, as i would prefer reading it chronologically with some flashbacks here and there but not reading back and forth alternately. I mean, its your book and you can do that (which i recommend, however read henrys flashback once he will say in front that he also made a pact), but it would feel better if it was made like that by default as it feels disorganized now. Modern times arc should be shortened by like 60-75 pages as there is a looot of filler there and thats a real issue which many people pointed out before me and i agree with it wholeheartedly. I know the romance part is important but in this type of story it should be just shorter to slowly prepare for climax but also not boring out the reader by being too long.
You may ask why the heck i gave it a 4 stars then. Idk either, it feels for me like the content inside, which is buried under those imperfections is amazing. I liked the story overall, even though reading, not so much. It would feel amazing as a movie (i hope someone will pick it up, the best thing for this book would be if it was made in a 2D old school disney-like animation). Also the ending may have been the matter that made me give 4 instead of 3 stars as its not fairly tale esque. Its still fairly good, but its realistic and shows that you cant have it all. Its one of the love-hate books on my list, but this time the positives and negatives are the opposite to what lovehate should be for. And thats maybe a good point for this book, that it will charm somehow even those who will hate it overall.

Mogłoby być ciekawie lecz książka jest przegadana mimo ledwie 300 stron. Zagadka też jest banalniejsza niż banał a suspensu nie ma. A szkoda bo to z początku miało zadatki na bycie jedną z lepszych “Pre-Rizzoli” książek.
