I won the audio version of this title through a giveaway on The StoryGraph. I am SO glad I did. This was a FANTASTIC listen!! I would suggest it to anyone that enjoys a thrilling ride from page 1. This book held my attention from start to finish. I will definitely be on the look out for more stories by this author.
This came highly recommended to me. I have to say, it was a tough read. What I mean by tough, is that as a childhood abuse survivor, I found myself reliving, reflecting. and pondering a lot of memories.
It is a well written book & I applaud the author for putting everything out there and for sharing her experience.
Poignant. Haunting. Painfully honest. You feel Judy's and Mackenzie's pain almost as if you were there holding their hands through it - except you can't be. Unless you have been in their shoes, there is no way to truly comprehend what either of them is going through. Well written, very insightful into a world many read about and many watch on television but few actually live. This is a story of mistakes, injustice, and a mother's unconditional love.
Read too YA for me. Started off with such promise & then went downhill quickly.
Couldn't get into the story. Characters were unlikeable.
Too many points of view to keep track of.
Just too slow. The writing style is something I couldn't get used to. May try again at another time.
Information was outdated. Book read very dry.
Oh my gosh! How many times do these spoiled @$$ adults have to act like there is nothing to life but money??? They are so grating, I can't stand it. I wanted to like this book partly because of who recommended it to me - it was a 5 star for her, but I just can't. Every character in this book is insufferable.
Repetitive & kind of boring.
Couldn't get into it. Didn't like the POV that the story was being told with.
Writing style. Punctuation
Writing style was okay but pacing was off. I felt like the stories were lazy.
Too much of a reminder of my childhood
Started out good but seems to be going downhill. The characters make it impossible to care about them. It is like the FMC is unstoppable - there is nothing she can't do.
This story didn't keep my attention. I was bored the whole time I was listening.
Didn't hold my attention. Maybe came into it with too high of expectations??
Story is moving along too slowly for my tastes.
Felt like the story wasn't going anywhere.
