I am all about creating prosperity and I believe whole-heartedly in the power of attraction - I live it abundantly on a daily basis. However this book seems to be reincarnated from material that has been hashed out over and over - but it wasn't written nearly as well as it was the first time. I think Dr. Chopra has made some excellent contributions to the literature but to me this book felt like a throw away that would have never been published had it not had Dr. Chopra's name on it.
Another of my page a day books completed for 2009. Read this along with another 365 page a day book and this one was much better. Even though I'm not a martial art's person, per se, I do go along with much of the philosophy. Mr. Cardillo present short lessons in easily learnable bites and practical exercises to help you apply or ponder what you've learned for the day. I liked it.
Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, philosopher extraordinaire, turns in a very satisfying book of essays centered around the basic theme of the usage of sticks and strings, not only to make objects but to stir our souls.
Multiple essays about knitting, life, children, love, pain and grief in a format that takes us from casting on to binding off.
By turns hilarious and heart rending this is a great book. If you don't knit then at least check this book out at the library and read the very last essay titled “Helen”. This stand-alone essay is worth the entire price of the book. But you'll want to read the others too.
I don't give a lot of five's but this is a book of truly extraordinary delight. It is the story of the Jesus mythos last days told through the eyes of his saucy, celtic/druid reared, Goddess Isis worshipping sacred whore/lover/wife Maeve also known as Mary of Magdala. The book is at times raucous laugh out loud funny and at other times it will break your heart. I loved the humanness as well as the divinity and the rendering of the disciples from thick as a block to plotters, schemers and all the other petty intrigue that goes along with the human conidition. The depiction of the women was truly “divine”. I read late and I read early and I was truly sorry to see this book end. Enjoy.
Some interesting concepts. However it seems like the author sends you to his site to buy DVD's or to see the latest in something. However in two instances of material I would really be interested in, the information simply wasn't there. #1 the current discount broker they recommend #2 “waxies” somewhat annoying nickname says he is on record at the time he wrote this saying that the DOW would be at 4000 and the NASDAQ would be in the 700's when I go look at the website I don't see him on record for anything relating to this.
Now if I wanted to sign up for his services which range up to ~ $7,200 per year or his books which are substantially cheaper I might get some of this information. But I always feel cheated if I'm told to go somewhere and look for something and it isn't available.
That said I'm going to try some of the techniques he listed via play money and see if they work.
