I'm hoping there are still more coming to this series but have a feeling this was the last. I'm sad if that's true.

Beverley is a little better in this one but seems to be surrounded by horrible people which does explain her behaviour at times, John is as good as he always is but stays too much of a scientific observer than helping out where he can but theories and conclusions are open to interpretation.

Lots of things flying about in this book, not saying much because spoilers, and clues are abound.

I definitely need to read all the books in this series.

Huge thanks to Tony Lee, Eman Casallos, Diamond Book Distributors, Dynamite Entertainment and NetGalley for this copy in exchange for an honest review.

I vaguely remember watching the original Battlestar Galactica when I was younger because I fancied Dirk Benedict and he was Face on The A-Team, so I wanted more of him, bearing in mind that I was probably about 7-8 at the time!

This brought back all sorts of feels about that time of my life and I'm now happy to know about Starbucks back story.

Highly recommended to all fans of the series and just everyone!!

The art style, colours, humour and story are wonderful! I enjoyed this immensely and can't wait to read volume 2 to see how the story develops.

Highly recommended.

As the book starts there is a horrific scene of the massacre of Native Americans, it's upsetting but it sets the scene for the rest of the book.

It's paranormal and I found it creepy in parts, others may find the whole thing creepy. Noises, bangs, growls, voices, faces and shadows are among the unexplained phenomena in this book. There are portions about the history of the Native Americans and the continued massacre over their homes and land. Most of the book is about the paranormal investigation done in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the home and land of two Native American brothers.

While I didn't find it as creepy as others probably will I did really enjoy it and find myself quite angry with some of the history in it, the Native Americans were living their lives in their homes with their families before us Brits turned up and the whole ‘let's kill the indigenous peoples cause they're different from us' madness began.

This is the 2nd book I've read in this series and I have to say that I very much dislike Beverley, she is a horrible, horrible person!

I enjoyed the mystery and the continuing story of the two main characters and I will be reading the next book in this series, Corpus Delicti, in a few minutes.

I don't get creeped out very often, guess I've been desensitised by all the books I e read before and all the movies I've picked to watch, so to find something that gave me goosebumps and freaked me out a little was a very good thing.

Not all of the book has that creepy feeling (not for me anyway) but one certain part really was. It's good to see the ‘human' side of Paranormal Investigators, the side that's not all technical and to know some of how their work affects them.

I will be picking up his first book because I really want to be creeped out again!

This is now one of my favourite cozy mysteries! The characters are extremely fun and wonderfully quirky, the setting is rife for lots of new mysteries, the clues are dotted about nicely and there are plenty of humorous moments to keep you entertained.

I will now sit and wait not so patiently for the next book.

I've been reading this for a while as its the sort of book you can dip into every now and then and read a little bit, or a lot, and then put it down until you want more factastic bits of information.

I love it and would recommend it to everyone.

I was lucky enough to read Hellbound earlier this year and loved it so when I found out about this prequel I knew I just had to read it. I was not disappointed.

It's the back story for Hellbound so includes information about the end of the book (which I'm not going to go into because spoilers!) and things start to slot into place a little more regarding Obadiah and the situations surrounding him.

I eagerly await more books in this series and will sit patiently until then.

I'm a fan of Saga so when I saw this on NetGalley I had to read it.

The colours and art style go perfectly with the story and the fact that it's set in the 80's, lots of bright, vibrant colour is always good for that decade.

A little different from what I was expecting but a good and speedy read.

I don't read too many graphic novels as I need to find ones that spark an interest, I'm glad I found this one as it is wonderful!

While Brian's dad is on his death bed he confesses a crime and Brian, unsure of what he's confessing to, goes to find the evidence in the crawl space of the house his father mentions.

The black and white art style of this graphic novel is perfectly in keeping with the narration and story. Brian suffers from schizophrenia, like his father did, and has to take his tablets at a set time, when he doesn't, his mind likes to play with him, as the graphic novel does to us.

I'll definitely be reading more by this author as this was brilliant.

I read a lot of crime thrillers as they really interest me and I love to read them, I don't, however, watch any reality TV as it does nothing for me and doesn't involve any murder.

This book mashes the two together and gives us a very damaged main character, DCI Jericho, who's forced to appear on a reality TV show by his boss (who is a bitch) despite the fact that he doesn't want to do it and isn't in the right mental state to be a part of it.

The show is called Britain's Got Justice, they're getting to the final 3 and the creator and producers want the 3 finalists to spend time with a proper policeman to see what the ins and outs of every day policing entails. How could it possible go wrong!?

I really enjoyed this book, became very angry with a fair few of the characters and thought they all needed a good old fashioned chinning because they're bloody awful people, loved Jericho, despite the fact that he's a moody bleeder who does not like to communicate very much, and his assistant DS Haynes, who is the more easy going of the two.

There's violence, torture, rape and murder. Some things are tied up quite nicely and others are left for the second book, which I will be reading in the next few days or so (fingers crossed).

Highly recommended read.

This is my favourite of the series so far! Learning more about Bindi and her past, giving her a chance to be the lead character and showing her stuff.

I enjoyed the mystery and very much look forward to the next book in the series.

A German crime novel with trips to Sweden involving Cold War spies, agents and double agents and lies, lots of lies.

This is the first German crime novel I've read and I'm still not sure what to make of it. The mystery and backstory was enjoyable and interesting but I couldn't really connect with the characters that well and I felt it dragged in parts.

I would be interested to see if there are anymore books involving these characters, maybe I'd be able to engage more with those.

I started this at the beginning of February and got 14% through before my brain just gave up and got terribly confused so I decided to start it again, to reboot my brain and give it another go, this time it worked.

This book was originally released in Sweden as a trilogy and, obviously, the copy we have is the bind up, all 700+ pages of Swedish crime goodness!

It's very twisty, I thought I had things worked out and knew who was killing peeps but as you get further in that changes and you're left with a big ‘huh' feeling. It is quite heavy on explanation and information but you do need a lot of it to try and work through the story.

There's also a lot, and by a lot I mean a huge amount, about sexual molestation of children and violent and bloody deaths. Just wanted to warn you about that!!

The chapters are short and involve various characters, years and locations so it can get quite jumpy in parts and might make you pause a little to get your bearings.

I really enjoyed it but it could've been shorter, everything seemed to be tied up enough for me so that's always good.

2 stars

As always with short stories it was an extremely quick read, too short for me and I would've liked more from it. Wasn't the worst book I've read though, have a few more books by this author to read so I'm hoping they creep me out or scare me sufficiently.

5 stars

I really enjoyed this book! Funny, creepy, supernatural, an old haunted house that needs cleaning and a nice slow build up with a good history/back story.

I have another book to read by this author and if it's like this I know I'll enjoy it, I just hope it's not exactly the same as this because that'd be shitty and boring.

A cosy mystery with books in it? Yes please! I flew through this once I started it, the pacing is good and you don't realise how quickly you're reading it until it's done.

Loved most of the characters and really disliked others, you'll know who when you read it! Really enjoyed it and look forward to more books in this series.

Now THIS is a crime novel! I picked this up last night before bed thinking I'd be able to put it down after an hour and just pick it up again this morning. That is not what happened. After trying to sleep for an hour I got back up and finished the rest of the book, didn't even notice the time and my brain then decided we needed to think about the book for a while.

He's written an extremely strong female character who is smart and accomplished, good at what she does and isn't a stuck up bitch, has humour and is compassionate. The rest of the characters are well rounded and little threads of their lives are spooled out slowly, drawing you in and leaving you wanting more.

I'd worked out some of the twists early on but the last 1/4 of the book really surprised me, made me wonder why I hadn't seen some of them coming. That hasn't happened to me while reading a crime/mystery/thriller novel in a very long time.

So very highly recommended! I will 100% be reading more by this author.

This is such a bloody good book! Not as violent as I expected with him being a serial killer.

The criminology aspects of it are so very good, the interviews with Obi showing his complete lack of feelings for what he does, claiming he kills because he can.

I worked out the twists and the end but that in no way took anything from the story, it made me even more interested to see how it was going to come together.

I very highly recommend this book, it will definitely stay on my kindle to be re-read.

Another good cosy mystery! And with puzzles too!

A lot of mystery in this, more so than I've read in previous cosy mysteries and I really enjoyed it! Lots of characters in play who get whittled down as the book unfolds and lots of clues to pick up on to what's happening.

I really like the fact that is has a puzzle at the end, which I will be having a go at over the weekend to see if I can work it out.

Would've liked to have read the first book in this series as it would've given me the more information as to the main characters but it didn't detract too min from the story.

The naked dead body of a teenage boy is found in a river and then more bodies are found, incriminating a man who swears he is innocent, evidence of his guilt continues to be stack up against him. Is he guilty or innocent?

Was a slow starter for me but I like how the cases in this were intertwined and how it all played out. Not a fan of a couple of the characters and managed to work out the twists and killer early on, that didn't detract from the story though and I did enjoy it.

Haunted house novels are some of my very favourite of all time so I try and read as many as I can get my hands on.

This one was slightly different than I expected, massive tree swing the difference but I really enjoyed it! Didn't scare me which is a shame as I'm still looking for one that will but it didn't stop me from becoming involved in the story and working out the twists early on.

The only reason I haven't given it a 5 star is because I wish it was longer, could've got some more creepy situations in there.

Once I picked this up I could not put it down, I needed to see how they got away from the monster who called himself their father, who called himself a husband.

The horrific mental, physical and sexual abuse he committed on his wife and the author over their time with him is abhorrent. Her brothers didn't fair much better and I wish I could've taken them all away from it.

The slight glimmers of a childhood they could never hope to have when they played with the animals and explored the land around them, knowing they'd have to go back and be prepared for whatever cruelty he had devised for that day.

Knowing that they all survived this and became stronger people, became loving parents when they could've so easily followed a path of destruction, shows that you can get through anything if you have a strength of character and the love of the rest of your family.

Excellent book but does have descriptions of animal abuse, murder, violence and sexual abuse.
